Emily & Joshua were no strangers to LuvEd Photography, as I've had the pleasure of photographing their daughters entire first year. It was always a pleasure working with them so when they decided to tie the knot I was so excited to be there to capture yet another moment in their story.
Emily and Josh chose to do a first look the morning of their wedding and get all of the formal photos out of the way before ceremony time. They did the first look privately, in Emily's sister's beautiful sun room which provided the perfect setting for them to see each other for the first time. With a tap on the shoulder from Emily, Josh turned around and his first words were "I get to marry you?!" It was a really sweet moment! They then joined their friends on the party bus for a drive over to BirdHaven Greenhouse who allowed us to use their space to keep warm and get some photos done!
Following the formal photos it was off to the venue for us to take advantage of a little bit more light before the sun went down. We caught golden hour at the absolute perfect time, The timing couldn't have been more perfect to get a few more shots of these two before it was time to take a walk down the aisle!
The ceremony, officiated by one of Emily's friends, was so well done! There were beautiful readings, some laughter, and Josh and Emily wrote their own vows which I loved hearing as they were incredibly heart felt and personal. The ceremony started with Emily walking down the aisle with both her dad and daughter in tow, and it couldn't have been more perfect. As the sun set behind these two as they said their vows, it was time for their kiss and off to party.
The room for the reception was spacious and elegant. It provided a great space for mingling and dancing. At this reception things were a little different as they did the formal dances before dinner in order to allow their daughter a chance to party a little herself. I'm so happy they did that, as the photos of them doing their first dance as a family are so special. Once their daughter went home, dinner, speeches and more dancing finished the night off. It was an absolute pleasure working with this family as it has always been, and I cannot wait to see where life takes them! Congratulations!
Theresa & Matt got married on a crisp fall day in early November. From the time we arrived at the brides' house we could tell this would be a gorgeous and super fun day ahead. Not only did we get to work with the incredibly kind bride and groom, but some of my dear client friends were in the wedding party, and seeing them sans kids, was so. much. fun!
Theresa's look for her wedding day was...well...completely stunning! The back detail on her dress was so lovely and she seemed so calm and ready to get this day started. Before she got dressed she was presented with a gift from her soon to be hubby - this adorable scrapbook he made. Watching her look at all the photos of their dating life made me tear up - I could tell how much she loved him more and more as she turned each page.
As Theresa made her way down the aisle, her groom's face lit up and she gleamed all the way down the aisle toward her man. With the love support of everyone in the ceremony, they said their vows, exchanged rings and were finally husband and wife. It was now time for their first family portrait...with their pup of course, and then we added in their enormous bridal party - who were all a blast to work with!
Given the daylight savings, by the time we got to the venue, it was dark, but provided us with a fun opportunity to get creative and use areas of the venue we probably normally wouldn't, and I love the result.
The reception room was gorgeous, and filled with love and laughter, everyone had a great time. The intros included some cross dressing, the speeches included teasing and laughing, and the whole evening included a LOT of dancing and the grooms sister catching the bouquet,
These two, I'm sure, danced the night away well after we had to say good bye, and to be honest, I was sad to leave- as it was a joy watching them and all their loved ones together, as they are truly blessed beyond words. Congratulations to Theresa and "Houli" (no idea if I spelled that correctly). Thank you for including us in your most memorable day -- and to Houli... you still owe me a gift card. :)
