What a STUNNING day for this couple! The day started out with the couple getting ready at their venue. They wanted to keep it calm and easy, and the venue provided a great space for getting ready so we met everyone at the venue and immediately started photographing all the beautiful hair and make up that was happening! Brittany looked so lovely from head to toe, and I couldn't stop snapping photos! I sent Brianne, my assistant to photograph the guys where they had some other ideas in mind...and let's just say suspenders and undies were involved, so I don't dare to post those on here! Sorry Brianne. hehe.
Brittany and Kristopher got married on one of those incredibly hot days we got hit with in Chicago. Given the heat, we were still going to do photos out on the Golf Course at The Grove, their gorgeous choice of wedding venue. We were able to do the first look with dad, with the bride and groom…and then the storm hit. A BIG storm. Despite the pouring rain and occasional thunder and lightening, we pressed on. With the clear umbrellas another bride had so lovingly gifted me, and with the easy going, trusting attitude of the bride, groom and their families we continued to get through all the photos planned and I couldn’t be happier with the result! It just always goes to show that sometimes there is something better out there than our best laid plans!
The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at The Grove, in Long Grove, Illinois. The groom, his family, his friends were all from Canada and it was so fun to work with them - I particularly loved their accents and love for life! The bride and her family were more local, and were some of the kindest and sweetest people I have worked with. Respectful and so trusting of me and my process, it has been a joy to work with them!
The vows were incredibly sweet and hearing the story of how they met and dated long distance - with Brittany eventually choosing to make a move to Canada with the support of her parents was truly touching to me. It was definitely one happily ever after I will never forget. I wish them nothing but the best on their journey, throughout their marriage and wherever life takes them and I am SO looking forward to sharing the rest of their images with them, but for now, here’s a peek! Luv, ed
